Drawstring or Zipper Pouches: A UAE Packaging Buyer’s Checklist
Choose drawstring or zipper pouches for jewellery, gifts and accessories by comparing usable size, fabric, lining, branding and bulk quantities.

One category, two different closure decisions
Pouches include drawstring bags and zipper bags, but the closures solve different packing problems. A drawstring gathers the top around the contents and provides a visible presentation detail. A zipper creates a defined opening and is useful when several small accessories need to stay together. Compare the actual item and the way customers will open it rather than choosing only from a colour chart.
For jewellery packaging, a gift set or a hotel accessory pack, test the pouch with the real contents and any inner box. A flat pouch measurement is not its usable capacity. Drawstring channels consume some height, and a zipper opening may be narrower than the overall body. Allow room for comfortable loading without stretching the seams.
Choose the fabric for the presentation
The catalogue includes cotton, cotton jersey, linen, MiniMat melange, ripstop, satin, polyester, twill cotton and velvet options. These names are a starting point: confirm composition, weight and the precise colour against the selected product reference. Compare the way each fabric drapes around the packed item. A photograph on a screen is not a binding colour standard.
For a soft gift presentation, compare satin and velvet samples. For a more understated textile look, review cotton or linen options. Check whether lining is included and whether the inner seams could contact a delicate item. Do not assume that a decorative pouch is scratch-proof, washable or suitable for direct food contact without the relevant confirmation.
Check cords, zippers and artwork together
Specify the cord colour, closure arrangement and whether the branding should remain visible when the top is gathered. On a zipper pouch, identify the required zipper colour and opening direction. Ask to see a representative closure sample if the pouch will be opened frequently or packed by a team working through a large order.
Provide the logo file and intended print or embroidery size. Fine details may need adjustment for a textured fabric. Review artwork placement on the filled pouch, not just a flat digital rectangle. Where two fabrics use the same colour name, approve them separately rather than assuming they will match.
Prepare a useful bulk enquiry
Send the product SKU, item dimensions, closure preference, fabric, quantity per size and colour, and branding instructions. Tell us whether the order is for retail packaging, event gifts or an accessory set, and include the delivery city. Buyers in Sharjah, Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE can use the same specification checklist; minimum quantities, samples and delivery arrangements must be confirmed in the quotation.
